Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 24, 2026

VineBlocks is a free game made for children. Our privacy approach is simple: the safest data is the data we never collect. We do not build profiles of your child and we do not sell or share anything.

Information we do not collect

We do not collect or ask for any personally identifiable information. There are no accounts. We do not request a name, email address, age, birthday, phone number, photograph, or precise location from players. Player names are chosen from a fixed, curated list — free-text names cannot be entered.

Information stored on your own device

To make the game work, we save your progress (your builds, inventory, and settings) in your browser’s local storage on your device. This never leaves your device unless you choose to use the optional backup below. Clearing your browser data removes it.

Optional anonymous backup

If you choose to back up your progress across devices, the game stores your save file on our server under an anonymous code that you choose and keep — like a coat-check ticket. This code is not linked to any name, email, or account, and we have no way to identify who it belongs to. The backup expires on its own if it is not used. Don’t share your code with anyone you don’t want to have your save.

Multiplayer data

If a parent turns on private multiplayer, the server relays only the minimum numeric data needed to see other players in the same private room: position, a colour palette, a chosen-name index (from the curated list), a pre-approved emoji index, and block-edit coordinates. No free text is ever transmitted. This data is relayed in real time between players in the room and is not used to build any profile. A short, anonymous activity log (join/leave times) may be kept on the device for the parent’s weekly summary; it stays on the device.

No advertising or third-party tracking

VineBlocks shows no ads and contains no third-party advertising, analytics, or tracking scripts. The game loads only from our own servers.

Children’s privacy (COPPA & similar laws)

VineBlocks is designed to be used by children and is built to align with the U.S. Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and similar laws by not collecting personal information from anyone, regardless of age. Because we collect no personal data, there is no personal data to access, correct, or delete. If you believe your child has somehow provided us personal information, contact us and we will address it promptly.

Data security

The game is served over encrypted connections (HTTPS) under a strict Content-Security-Policy, and the optional anonymous backup is stored on Cloudflare’s infrastructure. Because we hold no personal information, a data breach could not expose your child’s identity.

Changes

If this policy changes, we will update the date above. Material changes will be noted on this page.
